Being new years and all, you`d think a man would get some time off, shoot some pool and relax in a general matter. Well, you`d think wrong. As it turns out, holidays are the only time you can actually get some work done. Catching up and stuff.
First thing, the E-demokracija.si site. With the help of Matej and Swingman, we managed to turn into into something more shiny shiny-like. Any comments?
Second, the euro thing. Do you know how hard it`ll be to become a millionaire now? I was THIS close to become one in tolars and blam! they go and change everything. Back to the drawing board…
Third, this whole taping of the hanging Sadam thing. Seriously, don`t they have something better to do? And by the looks of it, the whole thing looks fake. The old fox`s probably still alive somewhere, drinking martinis and watching James Bond.
Fourth, our first article on blogs and democracy got published in Medijska preža. Go read it at E-demokracija.si And please…comment away!

About the euro, I just came back to Slovenia… and i notice everyone soooo nostalgic… want to believe it’s Christmas’ fault! But I guess not.
Went to buy smtg to refill the freezer, and I saw the girl at the counter -whose mind was a mess with euro- ask an old man… “Will you pay in euros?”. His reply was “No, I’m paying with denar” (denar=money), while showing her some tolars. Not a joke -at least I think he was saying it seriously-, but his ocurrence kept me laughing innerly for a while.

I agree, I was rather annoyed by that as well. But there are several positive sides here:
(1) Possibly you already were a millionaire in dinars in 1989 — I still have a two-million banknote from then, even though I was just a child at the time.
(2) Start investing NOW, and don’t underestimate the power of compound interest 🙂
(2.1) Plan for a long life 🙂
(3) Hope for a period of high inflation which will make it easier to become a millionaire in euros.
(3.1) If you sell any products or services, raise your prices as much as possible. This will help increase the inflation rate 🙂
(4) You can easily become a millionaire in Indonesian rupiahs :))

I loved your funny assessment of the Euro, guess they do it to keep moving the carrot farther in front of you or people would be complacent and all be millionaires and billionaires in Tolars and be content. This way it makes the goals bigger and up to world standards.
In the meantime you can be like many other people here and drive a Porsche SUV around and pretend, even if it is still legally owned by the bank for the next 50 years till you get rich or die trying.
