Funny how skin tends to stimulate people. They get all worked up about the fact that a teacher in primary school has a life of her own in which she is taking nude photos of herself and her boyfriend. How the photos got into the mighty www, we`ll never know and it does not matter. What matters is the reaction. This time, not of the people, but of the media.

Media runs on three colors. Yellow, red and green. Green is money, red is blood and yellow…well…I`ll let you figure that one on your own. Just a little hint…it`s not orange juice.

Sex (and all stuff related to it) sells. It`s a well-known fact and we can see the application of that fact everywhere we go. Naked ladies selling us cars. Naked men selling us yoghurts. Naked ladies and naked men selling us clothes (a bit confusing, but no one seems to mind), food, phones and every other thing imaginable. Nude ass makes the world go around…

Digitalization of our living space is another important factor. No more embarassing trips to the developing stations (I`ve been told by a friend who works in a place where they develop photographies that every time some guy/girl brought in nude photos of her/him-self, they always made an extra copy if the “subject” was good-looking), you can make your own photos and movies in the privacy of your home and no one`s the wiser.

Nudity is still a tabu topic in our society, male nudity even more than female, precisely because we are living in a patriarchate, which still prefers the male nudity to be reserved strictly for the private sector of our society, while females should be paraded around like prize-winning cattle.

Recently, a few “sex scandals” (as the media calls them) shook our beloved country. People took nude photos of themselves and “somehow” those photos got in the hands of a broader public or the media. Funny how without the media and its global coverage, these things would go away without any serious or long-lasting impact. But as soon as the Machine gets its claws in, the matter changes completely.

I find the case of the teacher, the singer and the bank clerk (sorry, not link, but it happened a while ago and there was the whole shebang cause she was an active member of a political party – if anyone remembers, pleast post in comments) bizzare to say the least.

Not because of the stuff they did, but how it got interpreted in the media and how the people bought that.

When will we start seeing the real issues? And not some obscure stories about people who showed their asses in front of a camera? And when will people stop acting in a saint-like fashion, pointing fingers and accusing others?

Reading comments here scares me. Where am I? Who are these people?

It`s creepy how the creeps come out, find a target and then show-off their own narrow-mindness. How do they live their lives and what issues do they address? Some lady took nude photos. Burn her at the stake! There are other pressing issues like poverty and unemployment and all they care about is some skin.

I will never forget the reaction on the faces of certain people I will not name, when the music group LET 3 performed on his show and took off all their clothes. People were screaming bloody murder for weeks. Incidently, the host of the show is a homosexual. The target audience are the exact people who think gays should be treated as sick people. As mental patients. What the public does not know, cannot hurt them.

When will the public come to their senses…we can only hope. And dream. And guard our duckie photos carefully.
