First, we have to explain the name. We tried to make a chocolate pie, mental picture was this. We thought that all we had to do is the filling and the dough part will be obtained in one of the shops. How wrong we were. And since we could not find any proper dough, we decided to go crazy broadway style and make up our own cake. So we did.
We took two recipes from Kulinarična Slovenija and mix them together, using one recipe for the dough and the other one for the filling.
Here are the ingredients.
For the dough, you use:
25 dkg flour
1 pack of baking powder
4 dkg of cocoa powder
10 dkg of butter
1 egg
3 dcl of milk
You throw all these things together, mix them so that the dough runs smooth and then chuck it in the over for 35 minutes at 180 degrees celsius.
For the filling, you use:
220 ml of cream
100 g of sugar
400 g of sour chocolate
100 g of butter
3-4 spoons of cool milk
cocoa powder
You boil the cream and sugar, turn off the gas and add pieces of chocolate. You stir until the chocolate is completely melted, you add butter and milk. You stir until the butter is completely melted and the whole thing is smooth and shiny.
Then you take the dough out of the oven, you pour the filling all over it and dump it in the fridge (we did it for over-night, but it only needs to be cooled down).
And then..voila!
Room for improvements:
Try adding (hazel)nuts to the dough
Whipped cream would go wonderful with it
500 g of chocolate is A LOT of chocolate
Nuts!
Should be kept far far away from chocolate. I hate stuff in my chocolate. As if chocolate isn’t good enough, people just have to stuff raisins and crap in it… eew.
I made a cake this weekend, it was pretty, yummy and undocumented. 😉
Raisins, i hate that too. And fruit don’t need to be with chocolate either. But nuts are good though, very good even.
And i want pictures and stuff on the cake making next time!:D
