On one hand, everybody is full of independence and freedom and your own unique personality and on the other hand people are alone. And lonely. Go figure.

In fact I think it’s perfectly natural — the more independent, free, unique etc. you are or want to be, the greater the probability that you won’t be able to get along with other people, as there will be nothing to force either side to adapt to the other side, or even to merely tolerate it.
