It`s hard for Bruce Willis not to be The man. He tries to be an ordinary nobody, but fails miserably every time.
In this movie, he plays a drunk cop, a day from his retirement who is given his last assigment. He is suppose to take some large-mouth to the court where the large-mouth will testify. 16 blocks. You can do it, Jack!
The problem is, the large-mouth, Eddie (Mos Def), is suppose to testify against some cops gone bad and they don`t want that. And they are going to stop them. By any means necessary.
So what you got here is lethal weapon 5, lots of action, somewhat funny dialogues and an excellent acting by Bruce and Mos Def. A pop-corn delight. With a twist.
Yes, it was an enjoyable film, and Mos Def’s character stood out like a sore thumb, he was that annoyingly convincing. I thought the conversation between Bruce Willis and David Morse was excellent. “F**k the truth!”
